This lovely country house has all modern mechanical systems and offers tremendous views from every window as it is set atop Mount Pomino on 54 acres of vineyards and woodlands, 2000 feet above RUFINA.  The village of Rufina is still unknown to Americans but is only 24km northeast by car or railyway from neighboring FLORENCE, providing Florentines a quiet retreat from the heat and hustle of the city during the summer months.  Still the village offers basic services such as a post office, bank, full-service butcher shop, service stations, other shops and more.

The old world charm of the country house has not been lost.   The warm country kitchen has an exposed high beam ceiling with large sky light and an open hearth wood burning fireplace.  New appliances and utensils are on site and there is a telephone #839-9307 for your use (see telephone instructions).  The three bedrooms comfortably sleep six people.  For convenience there is a modern bathroom with shower and half bathroom.  The living room is sufficiently large for entertaining.

On the other side of the village from our country house is ACONE.  It is interesting to see Rufina from the other side of the mountain.  When you come to Rufina from our house you will see on the right the Jolly Cafe and the sign ACONE.   Turn right and keep going until you reach the top of the mountain.  From that side you see a different view of the village and hills.  Very lovely.

North along the Forlivese road, the road that cuts through Rufina, you come to the intersection POMINO-BORSELLI where you turn right to reach our home (see map).   Instead of turning, if you keep going straight for about 9km you will see the sign for LONDA.  Turn right and keep going to the center of the village.  If you stay on the left you will reach CONSUMA and further down BIBBIENA.  If you go on the right you reach the back of our mountain, completely covered by thick, uncultivated woods.
